Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0340504A2] In a device for bending and balancing axially movable rolls of a rolling stand, in particular for the work rolls of a four-high rolling stand, in which there is on both sides a guide block 11 which is fixed to the housing in the window of each rolling-stand housing 3, and the roll chocks 4, 5 are supported to slide horizontally on an upper and lower lifting cage 6, 7, respectively, guided vertically on the guide block, and the roll bending forces are transmitted to the roll chocks by bending cylinders 16, 17, an improvement as regards the transmission of the bending and displacement forces to the roll chocks is achieved by virtue of the fact that at least one, preferably hydraulically acting bending cylinder 16, 17 engages on each upper and lower lifting cage 6, 7, the said bending cylinder(s) being supported on the guide block 11 fixed to the housing. <IMAGE>
