[origin: EP0340575A1] Water-free formulation for finishing sewing threads with a content of organopolysiloxanes, which consists of 65 to 99% by weight of a dimethylpolysiloxane having a viscosity of 50 to 10,000 mm<2>s<-><1> at 25 DEG C and a hydroxyl content of 0.3 to 1.5% by weight and 1 to 30% by weight of a fatty acid or of a fatty amine having on average 8 to 18 carbon atoms and, if required, 0 to 5% by weight of customary additives. <??>The formulations are simple to prepare, have an unlimited shelf life and also have a viscosity which is constant over a relatively long storage time. The formulations impart reduced thread tension, a smaller degree of thread breaking and improved stick-slip properties to sewing threads.
