[origin: EP0340659A1] The invention relates to a sealing for construction elements, in particular tubbings, which are assembled to form a tubular tunnel, each element having at least one encircling elastomeric sealing frame which is generally composed of four profiled strips and is usually located in a corresponding recess of the construction element, the profiled strips of two adjoining construction elements being arranged relative to one another in such a way that the grooves located on the base side of the profiled strips come to lie in mirror symmetry relative to one another in the unloaded and aligned state. The essential feature of this sealing consists in the fact that the back (12, 13) of the profiled strips (6, 7), in the fitted state, do not project or do not project substantially beyond the recess (4, 5) of the construction element, and that at least one of the opposite profiled strips can be activated by means of an injectable medium increasing the total volume, the hollow space (10, 11) available to begin with for this medium being small compared with the total volume of the profiled strip in the non-activated state. <IMAGE>
