A flanged connection made of flange plates (11, 12) is provided between the arm part and the electrode clamping device. Said flange plates (11, 12) delimit on both sides a hollow cooling liquid chamber (20, 29) and include through-holes (21) for the passage of cooling liquid from one hollow cooling liquid chamber to the other. This provides effective cooling of the flange plates and the current is thereby led directly through the flanged connection, the bracket being made of a light metal.
