For feeding a fuel additive into the fuel tank of a motor vehicle the pump device is formed by a pneumatically actuated displacement pump (14) the movable pump element (18) of which can be adjustably pressure controlled by way of a control valve (44) against the force of a preloaded spring (20), the control valve (44) being preferably actuated directly by the fuel tank cap (56). <IMAGE>

Beim Zuführen eines Kraftstoff-Zusatzmittels in den Kraftstoffbehälter eines Kraftfahrzeuges ist die Pumpeinrichtung durch eine pneumatisch betätigte Verdrängerpumpe (14) gebildet, deren bewegliches Pumpenelement (18) über ein Steuerventil (44) entgegen der Kraft einer vorgespannten Feder (20) druckgesteuert verstellbar ist, wobei das Steuerventil (44) bevorzugt unmittelbar durch den Kraftstoffbehälterverschluß (56) betätigt ist.
