[origin: EP0340855A2] In a thermal printer with a thermal printing head (15) adjustable in the line direction and with a writing strip (6) extending in the line direction, located opposite the thermal printing head and arranged pivotably transversely relative to the line direction, a supporting part (19) of the writing strip, forming an abutment for the thermal printing head, is connected, via at least one strip-shaped hinge part (20) projecting centrally from the supporting part, extending at least partially in the line direction and being intrinsically resilient transversely relative to the line direction, to a batten-like mounting part (21) extending parallel to the supporting part and retained on the printer. <IMAGE>
