For the optimum design of a steam fluidised bed drying installation, it is proposed to use, for heating the steam fluidised bed, a straight-tube bank (3) which is rolled or welded in the wall (5) on the inlet side and has a floating head exchanger on the other side. The straight-tube bank (3) has a number of steam runs (4, 4', 4'', 4''') so that the speed distribution of the steam is evened out in the individual tubes of the straight-tube bank. The corresponding condensate is deposited in the collecting and distributing chambers (6, 7) so that the flow resistance, in particular in the last steam runs, is not greater than in the first. There is consequently a considerably different number of tubes in the individual steam runs. <IMAGE>

Zur optimalen Auslegung einer Dampfwirbelschichttrocknungsanlage wird vorgeschlagen, zur Beheizung der Dampfwirbelschicht ein Geradrohrbündel (3) zu verwenden, welches eingangsseitig in der Wand (5) eingewalzt oder geschweißt ist und auf der anderen Seite einen Schwimmkopf aufweist. Das Geradrohrbündel (3) weist mehrere Dampfgänge (4, 4', 4'', 4''') auf, so daß die Geschwindigkeitsverteilung des Dampfes in den einzelnen Rohren des Geradrohbündels vergleichmäßigt wird. Das entsprechende Kondensat wird in den Sammel- und Verteilkammern (6,7) abgeschieden, so daß der Strömungswiderstand, insbesondere in den letzten Dampfgängen, nicht größer ist als in den ersten. Es ergibt sich somit eine erheblich unterschiedliche Rohrzahl bei den einzelnen Dampfgängen.
