[origin: EP0341368A1] In known submersible motor-driven pumps, an intermediate chamber (4) filled with a lubricant or coolant, e.g. oil, is arranged between the motor housing (1) and the hydraulic element (2). A separating wall (7) arranged in the intermediate chamber (4) around, and at a distance from, the motor shaft (3) extends over at least part of the chamber height and divides the intermediate chamber (4) into inner and outer annular chambers (8, 9) interconnected by an overflow (10).
