[origin: EP0341378A2] A device for variably force-fitting to a rod (11), particularly for the height adjustable fixing of a false ceiling, has a base member (1) which has two holding limbs (7, 8) arranged at a distance (b) from one another. In addition, it has a clamping lever (2) with a clamping limb (13) which is situated between the holding limbs (7, 8). The three limbs (7, 8, 13) have bores (9, 10, 15) which can be brought into mutual alignment. The clamping limb (13) can be brought, by means of an actuating lever (16) engageable in the base body (1), into a clamping position which is tilted with respect to the holding limbs (7, 8) and in which the rod (11) is clamped, on the one hand, between the two holding limbs (7, 8) and, on the other hand, the clamping limb (13). This device is very simple in its structure, can be manufactured simply and exhibits high holding strength on the rod. On the other hand, adjustments of the device on the rod (11) are easily possible. <IMAGE>
