Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0341387A2] A machine is provided for glazing earthenware or porcelain, in particular plates or the like, in which a plurality of supporting arms are attached to a capstan, each of which arms has a workpiece holder. The workpiece holder advantageously has two glazing pots which can be rotated about their own axes by corresponding motors and are so mounted on the supporting arm in question that they are pivotable relative to the latter. Each supporting arm passes through a plurality of stations in the glazing machine. A centring station is provided in an intake zone, from which station the material, after centring and the application of a printed stamp, is passed to the glazing pots in the glazing station. In the glazing station, the material is dipped in a glazing bath, performing a rotary movement and a simultaneous pivoting movement, and is then brought into an approximately vertical position. Then the glazing pots are pivoted so that the glazed material is situated in an approximately horizontal position. In this substantially horizontal position, the material is stepped onwards to a transfer station from which the material is passed to a sponge belt, by which the foot of the material is freed of glaze. From the sponge belt, the material is then transferred, with the aid of suction cups, to a removal device in a removal zone, a conveyor belt advantageously being provided for this purpose. <IMAGE>
