Abstract (en)
The rail is of the type comprising two flanges, outer (3) and inner (4) respectively, which are parallel and of equal thickness, and a web (5) which joins the said two flanges, the outer flange (3), against which the wall (2) to be supported is laid, moreover being fastened to this wall, for example by means of self-tapping screws (6), and the inner flange (4), in danger of buckling, resting on at least two supports (7). The inner flange (4) is continuously of considerably greater width than the width of the outer flange (3), the ratio between the said widths being between 1.2 and 2. It is employed in the supporting of an external building wall such as a roof covering or a wall cladding.
