Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH029415A] PURPOSE: To remove odorous material from gas or vapor with a simple method by feeding the gas or the vapor generating at a processing plant of organic substance to a furnace device of the processing plant, heating higher than a specified temperature and utilizing the heat generated at the furnace by the processing plant. CONSTITUTION: In a malt stock boiling process of e.g. a brewery plant, the vapor incorporating the odorous substance PD generating from the container 1 of a boiling pan, etc., is fed to the furnace device 13 via a vapor collecting hood 2, a vapor condenser 3, and a pipe line 5. Combustion air PL is mixed with the vapor in a mixing room 6, and fuel PE is burned in a combustion room 7. By heating with a flame 8 to at least higher than 400 deg.C, the odorous substance consisting of organic compositions such as alcohol and aldehyde is decomposed and produces non-odorous carbon dioxide and steam to be discharged from a flue duct 9. Energy generated with combustion in the combustion room 7 is fed to a heater device 11 through a connection pipe 10 and is utilized to heat and boil a medium in the container 1.
