Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0342618A1] The upper container rim (12) of a container which, like the lid (11), is made from plastic, for example a container for refrigerated products (10), is formed from two flanges (13, 14) which converge in an upward-directed point (15) and which are inclined in the same direction or different directions relative to the vertical. In the transition region between the inner flange (13) and the container wall (16) a peripheral groove (17) is provided, which is open towards the inside of the container. The lid (11) possesses a closing flange (18) and a bearing flange (20) adjacent thereto and forming a transition into the lid wall (21). The closing flange (18) and bearing flange (20) bear sealingly on the flanges (14, 13) of the container rim (12). By means of a latching web (19) on the one hand and a beading (22) on the other hand the lid (11) is latched relative to the outer flange (14) or within the groove or channel (17). <IMAGE>
