[origin: EP0342655A2] In a crane installation for a container, pendulum movements during the lowering of the spreader are suppressed by a method wherein the spreader, after reaching the particular intended position of the carrier, is brought into contact with the traveller, in a manner such as to damp the pendulum movement.
