Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0343680A1] A sealable refuse receptacle, in particular for medical or chemical purposes, has a receiving receptacle having an upper open end and a lid which seals the upper end and which has a double-walled outside rim which can be slipped onto the rim, which surrounds the upper end, of the receiving receptacle, latching devices being provided for locking the lid with respect to the receiving receptacle. The latching devices include a bead (11) disposed at the upper rim of the receiving receptacle (10) and extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of the receiving receptacle (10). The double-walled outside rim of the lid (20; 20') is formed by a circumferential outside wall (30) and a circumferential inside wall (31) which are at a distance from each other such that they can receive between them the upper rim of the receiving receptacle (10) having the bead (11). The outside wall (30) and the inside wall (31) are linked at the top of the lid (20; 20') by a covering wall (32) extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of the receiving receptacle (10). The latching devices furthermore comprise strong straps (21) which extend from the wall adjacent to the bead (11) of the receiving receptacle (10) upwards in the direction of the other wall and whose upper edge is disposed at a distance from the bottom of the covering wall (32) such that the bead (11) is able to latch in said distance. <IMAGE>
