Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0344100A1] In an electromagnetic device which will be of versatile use in a loom, a coil (8) connectable to an electrical line (9) is assigned a pole body (5). This pole body (5) is itself assigned a leaf-spring strip (11) mounted fixedly at one end, the pole body (5) having a bearing surface (10) for the leaf-spring strip (11). In the non-attracted state where there is no magnetic field, the leaf-spring strip (11) is so arranged obliquely relative to the bearing surface (10) that, when a magnetic field builds up in the coil (8) and the pole body (5), first the end region of the leaf-spring strip (11) comes to bear on the bearing surface (10) of the pole body (5) and, as the magnetic field intensifies, ever larger regions of the leaf-spring strip (11) come to rest on the pole body (5). As a result of this arrangement, the two initial speeds at which the leaf-spring strip (11) is moved both when a voltage is applied to the coil (8) and when it is cut off are relatively high. <IMAGE>
