A centrifuge having a rotor (10) driven by an electrical drive motor (12) is proposed, on which rotor equidistantly arranged marks (13) for assessing the actual speed are provided, said marks being scanned by a sensor (16) fixed to the housing. For the purpose of evaluation, a control unit (17) containing a control device for controlling the speed of the drive motor is provided. In order, in addition to the speed, to obtain further rotor-specific data automatically, further code marks (15) which can be scanned by the sensor (16) are provided on the rotor (10). In this way, it is possible, even when changing a rotor, to preselect the assigned threshold values or function characteristic lines again automatically in each case, so that incorrect operations are largely ruled out. <IMAGE>

Es wird eine Zentrifuge mit einem durch einen elektrischen Antriebsmotor (12) angetriebenen Rotor (10) vorgeschlagen, an dem zur Erfassung der Ist-Drehzahl äquidistant angeordnete Markierungen (13) vorgesehen sind, die durch einen gehäusefesten Sensor (16) abgetastet werden. Zur Auswertung ist ein eine Regeleinrichtung zur Regelung der Drehzahl des Antriebsmotors enthaltendes Steuergerät (17) vorgesehen. Um neben der Drehzahl weitere rotorspezifische Daten automatisch zu erhalten, sind weitere, vom Sensor (16) abtastbare Code-Markierungen (15) am Rotor (10) vorgesehen. Hierdurch ist es möglich, auch bei einem Rotorwechsel jeweils wieder automatisch die zugeordneten Grenzwerte oder Funktionskennlinien vorzugeben, so daß Fehlbedienungen weitgehend ausgeschlossen sind.
