[origin: EP0344628A1] The invention relates to an explosion proof lamp holder (10, 11) for fluorescent lamps (12) with two-pin bases (34), said lamp holder having a switching space enclosed in a pressure-proof manner, which switching space serves for interrupting the current circuit and is delimited by a holder housing (14) consisting of insulating material and a holder body (16) rotatably inserted therein. For receiving pins (32) projecting from the two-pin base (34) of the fluorescent lamp (12), the lamp holder body (16) has a contacting piece which contacts the pins at two points in each case. <IMAGE>
