[origin: WO8804698A2] A process for manufacturing and/or redimensioning highly stressed metal components (1) and coatings (4) with the aim of producing a component with a support coating at little cost, consists a) in applying, by the plasma spray technique, to a metal substrate (2), following exactly its form, a spray coating which is chemically unchanged in relation to the powder sprayed, b) in causing the spray coating to melt, by means of a diffused electric arc, in order to obtain a homogeneous and fine-grain coating (4) and c) in repeating stages a) and b) possibly one or several times.

Un procédé de fabrication et/ou de redimensionnement de pièces (1) et de revêtements (4) métalliques fortement sollicités, en vue de créer à moindres frais une pièce munie d'un revêtement porteur, consiste a) à appliquer, par projection au plasma sur un substrat métallique (2), en suivant exactement sa forme, une couche de projection inchangée chimiquement par rapport à la poudre projetée, b) à faire fondre la couche de projection, à l'aide d'un arc électrique diffusé, pour obtenir une couche (4) homogène finement granulée et c) à répéter les étapes a) et b) éventuellement une ou plusieurs fois.
