[origin: EP0346643A2] A device is provided for superficially dissolving the adhesive layer of glued wall and floor covering, for example wallpapers and carpets, in which device highly pressurised dissolving liquid is sprayed from jets against the surface of the covering in such a way that the dissolving liquid penetrates the covering. The device has a base plate with jet connectors, which can be countersunk in said base plate against the force of a spring, and a pressure plate which is displaceable relative to the base plate and which, when it is displaced against the force of a spring, automatically opens a main valve, accommodated in the base plate, for the jets. <IMAGE>
