[origin: EP0346780A2] A hanger for skirts or trousers has a cross-sectionally U-shaped central part (2) with a suspension hook (3) and two tensioning arms (4) guided in the central part so as to be displaceable to different tensioning widths, which tensioning arms can be adjusted, if appropriate, to the desired tensioning width. For simplification in terms of production and assembly, provision is made for the U-profile to have at least one longitudinal slot (15) extending over the range of movement of one tensioning arm (4) in each of its two limbs on both sides of the suspension hook (3), and for each tensioning arm to have at least one guide projection (14) engaging in the longitudinal slot on opposite sides. <IMAGE>
