Abstract (en)
A foldable wheelchair is described, having two lateral frames (10a, 10b) which are rotatably connected together by two crossed struts (24a, 24b) lying in planes transverse to the direction of travel. The struts (24a, 24b) are articulated on the frame (10a, 10b) at their lower ends and bear at their upper ends seat tubes (28a, 28b) parallel to the direction of travel which, when the wheelchair is unfolded, are snapped into latching parts (30a, 30b) provided on the frame (10a, 10b). Furthermore, each strut (24, 24b) is connected in an articulated manner to the adjacent frame (10a, 10b) by a rotating bracket (40a, 40b). The position of the points of articulation of the rotating brackets and the length of the rotating brackets, and the cross- section of the latching parts (30a, 30b) which are open at the top and the material of the latter, are selected so that the seat tubes can latch into the latching parts with elastic deformation of the latter. The rotating brackets and the snap-in connection produce a solid connection between seat tubes and frame, so that the unfolded wheelchair is stable in itself. <IMAGE>

Beschrieben ist ein faltbarer Rollstuhl mit zwei seitlichen Rahmen (10a, 10b), die durch zwei in Ebenen quer zur Fahrtrichtung liegende gekreuzte Streben (24a, 24b) drehbar verbunden sind. Die Streben (24a, 24b) sind an den unteren Enden an den Rahmen (10a, 10b) angelenkt und tragen an den oberen Enden zur Fahrtrichtung parallele Sitzrohre (28a, 28b), die bei entfaltetem Rollstuhl in an den Rahmen (10a, 10b) vorgesehenen Einrastteilen (30a, 30b) eingeschnappt sind. Außerdem ist jede Strebe (24, 24b) durch eine Drehlasche (40a, 40b) mit dem benachbarten Rahmen (10a, 10b) gelenkig verbunden. Die Lage der Anlenkpunkte der Drehlaschen und die Länge der Drehlaschen sowie der Querschnitt der oben offenen Einrastteile (30a, 30b) und das Material derselben sind so gewählt, daß die Sitzrohre unter elastischer Verformung der Einrastteile in diese einrastbar sind. Die Drehlaschen und die Einschnappverbindung ergeben eine feste Verbindung zwischen Sitzrohren und Rahmen, so daß der entfaltete Rollstuhl in sich stabil ist.
