Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH0249883A] PURPOSE: To provide a simplified structure and to permit unlocking, even if there is failure of an electric motor by designing a lock, so that at least one control rod can be actuated through the manual control of a movable bracket provided with the electric motor. CONSTITUTION: During normal operation, a coupling member 23 is raised or lowered by an electric motor device 20 via a worm screw 26 and a rack 28 to move control rods 4, 5 vertically for locking or unlocking. Should the electric motor device 20 fail, a control lever 45 is released through the energization of an electromagnet 59 and a movable bracket 24 is energized upward by a resilient repulsive member 38 and the control rods 4, 5 in locking positions are moved upward for unlocking. Furthermore, the projecting gripping end of a pin 57 provided on a movement prevention device 50 is moved manually in the vertical, upward direction to thereby release the control lever 45 for unlocking.
