[origin: WO8806653A1] An installation comprises a steaming chamber (10), a first, upstream cold chamber (11) and a second, downstream cold chamber (12). The length of the upstream chamber (11) is at least equal to that of the downsteam chamber (12). The upstream and downstream chambers are connected by a pressure-equalized pipe (33). A fan (29) extracts the steam at the top of the steaming chamber and reinjects it, after reheating by a heating element (32), into a perforated steaming box (31) from which jets of steam issue below the conveyor carpet (15) which is also perforated. The upstream cold chamber and the steaming chamber may have means for creating a temperature gradient upstream and downstream to prevent the threads from being subjected to a thermal shock during their passage through the steaming chamber (10).

L'installation comporte une chambre de vaporisage (10), une première chambre froide amont (11) et une seconde chambre froide aval (12). La chambre amont (11) a une longueur au moins égale à celle de la chambre aval (12). Les chambres amont et aval sont reliées par un conduit (33) d'équilibrage de la pression. Un ventilateur (29) aspire de la vapeur au haut de l'enceinte de vaporisage pour la réinjecter, après chauffage au moyen d'un corps de chauffe (32) dans un caisson (31) perforé qui émet des jets de vapeur sous le tapis transporteur (15), lui-même perforé. La chambre froide amont et la chambre de vaporisage peuvent comporter des moyens pour créer un gradient de température d'amont en aval afin d'éviter que les fils (16) ne subissent un choc thermique au passage dans la chambre de vaporisage (10).
