In a vertical blind assembly having slide elements (14) guided in a blind rail (12), having a drive element (72) for the displacement of the slide elements (14) in the blind rail, having rotatable pivoting spindles (16) on the slide elements (14) which support the blind strips, and having a worm drive on each slide element (14) which is in rotatable connection with the actuation of the drive element and which mates with a counter-element (50) of the pivoting spindle (16), the drive element (72) is formed by a cord (72); the cord (72) is in detachable, non-positive engagement with a belt wheel (70) on each slide element (14) which is coupled to the worm drive. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Streifenvorhang mit in einer Vorhangschiene (12) geführten Gleitelementen (14), mit einem Antriebselement (72) zur Verschiebung der Gleitelemente (14) in der Vorhangschiene, mit die Vorhangstreifen tragenden sowie verdrehbaren Schwenkachsen (16) an den Gleitelementen (14), und mit einem in Verbindung mit der Betätigung des Antriebselementes drehbaren Schneckentrieb an jedem Gleitelement (14), der mit einem Gegenelement (50) der Schwenkachse (16) kämmt, wird das Antriebselement (72) durch eine Schnur (72) gebildet; die Schnur (72) ist im aufhebbaren, kraftschlüssigen Eingriff mit einem Riemenrad (70) an jedem Gleitelement (14), das mit dem Schneckentrieb gekuppelt ist.
