Zur Verbesserung der Arbeitsleistung einer Vorrichtung zum Gleitschleifen von Werkstücken mit einem um eine erste Achse drehbar gelagerten Arbeitsbehälter und einem um eine zweite Achse drehbaren Rahmen, in dem der Arbeitsbehälter drehbar gelagert ist, wird vorgeschlagen, die erste und zweite Achse in verschiedenen, im Abstand A zueinander parallel verlaufenden Ebenen anzuordnen. In Verbindung mit unterschiedlichen Drehgeschwindigkeiten für Arbeitsbehälter und Rahmen bzw. unterschiedlichen daraus resultierenden Fliehkraftbeschleunigung für den Behälterinhalt, können deutlich bessere Arbeitsergebnisse erzielt werden.
