The invention relates to a process for the mechanical application of sealing gaskets (6) to electrical wires (1), in which the sealing gasket (6) is supported during the application in a guide sleeve (24) and the wire (1) is held captive by centring jaws (25), in which the wire (1) and one sealing gasket (6) are arranged flush with one another, and in which, a little way behind the end of the wire, clamping jaws (40) hold fast the wire (1) and the end of the wire is supported captively with little play in the centring jaws (33), the sealing gasket (6) is positioned and held fast directly before the end of the wire in the guide sleeve (24), whereupon the guide sleeve (24) and hence the sealing gasket (6) together with the centring jaws (33) are pushed towards the clamping jaws (40), so that the sealing gasket (6) is pushed onto the wire (1). The invention furthermore relates to a device for carrying out the process, in which the guide sleeve (24) is seated on a centring jaws device (25) which is combined with a clamping jaws device (26). <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum maschinellen Aufbringen von Dichtungsstopfen (6) auf elektrische Leitungen (1), wobei der Dichtungsstopfen (6) während des Aufbringens in einer Führungshülse (24) gelagert und die Leitung (1) vom Zentrierbacken (25) gefangen gehalten wird, wobei die Leitung (1) und ein Dichtungsstopfen (6) in Flucht zueinander angeordnet werden und wobei ein Stück hinter dem Leitungsende Klemmbacken (40) die Leitung (1) festhalten und das Leitungsende gefangen mit geringem Spiel in Zentrierbacken (33) lagert, der Dichtungsstopfen (6) unmittelbar vor dem Leitungsende in der Führungshülse (24) positioniert und festgehalten wird, woraufhin die Führungshülse (24) und damit der Dichtungsstopfen (6) zusammen mit den Zentrierbacken (33) in Richtung auf die Klemmbacken (40) geschoben wird, so daß der Dichtungsstopfen (6) auf die Leitung (1) geschoben wird. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens, wobei die Führungshülse (24) an einer Zentrierbackeneinrichtung (25) sitzt, die mit einer Klemmbackeneinrichtung (26) kombiniert ist.
