[origin: EP0350606A2] The device serves for humidifying a moving substrate with a liquid, an atomiser for the liquid facing the front side of the substrate being present, as well as an electrical high-voltage source and a charging device for the directed conveying of the atomised liquid onto the substrate. In this arrangement, the support device has an electrically conductive circumferential continuous loop on its upper side and an electrically insulated circumferential continuous loop on its lower side, which loop faces the rear of the substrate and rests against the latter with its side and runs around it with a relative speed thereto of zero. Furthermore, the charging device also has a charging component for the upper side of the continuous loop. The charging can also occur in a contactless manner by corona charging.
