Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0350669A1] A method or apparatus for reducing the stickiness of honeydew-contaminated cotton fibre by heating said fibre is characterised in that the cotton fibre, while still in bale form (12), is heated in a high-frequency electric or electromagnetic field (27) until the honeydew has been brought to an elevated temperature and the water present in the honeydew has been substantially evaporated, preferably until the cotton fibre has reached a temperature within the range of the boiling point of water. <IMAGE>
