Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH02127923A] PURPOSE: To bend or straighten a work having an elastic and plastic deformation characteristic by maintaining a play between mutually adjacent indenting elements and force distributing elements and between these elements and a supporting wall surface of a support element. CONSTITUTION: The indenting elements 3 and the force distributing elements 4 are automatically adapted to a contour of a load surface 2' in the work 2 by an indenting force F which is introduced via the support element 6 and guided to the indenting elements 3 through the force distributing elements 4 in contact with adjacent indenting elements 3, and by a play(s) between the force distributing elements 4 and the indenting elements 3 and the play between these elements 3, 4 and the support element 6. The force is uniformly distributed in the indenting elements 3 by the adaptability regardless of the contour of the load surface 2' in the work 2, and this is maintained through the whole deforming processes. Therefore, the adaptation of the indenting elements to prescribed or varied contours is achieved.
