[origin: JPH0274681A] PURPOSE: To enable a deep dyeing such as excellent color fastness to light and color fastness to rubbing by dyeing leather with a pigment dispersion separated to fine particle diameter containing a specific compound to improve penetration thereof into the leather. CONSTITUTION: Leather is dyed by using a pigment dispersion divided to fine particle diameter of 50-500 nm and containing a compound of the formula [Ar is benzene or naphthalene; X is CH2 -CH2 and/or CH2 -CH(CH3 ); 0 or (m-1) pieces of group A are each H, 1 or (m) pieces of the group A are each benzoyl and/or naphthoyl, 1 or (m) pieces of the group A are each CO-CH=CH-COOM or the like (M is a cation); R<1> , R<2> and R<3> are each H or a 1-4C alkyl; R is H and/or a 1-9C alkyl; (n) is 1-150; (m) is 2-12] to assist penetration thereof into the leather, and thus excellent leather dyeing with an excellent fastness and an excellent adhesive force is enabled.

Verfahren zur Badpigmentierung von Leder, wobei man das Leder mit Pigmentdispersionen färbt, die eine Verbindung <IMAGE> der Formel (I) enthalten, in welcher Ar Benzol der Naphthalin, X -CH2-CH2- und/oder -CH2-CH(CH3)-, 0 bis (m-1) der Reste A Wasserstoff, 1 bis m der Reste A Benzoyl und/oder Naphthoyl, 1 bis m der Reste A -CO-CH=CH-COOM und/oder -CO-CH2-CH(SO3M)-COOM sind, wobei M für ein Kation steht, R¹,R² und R³ Wasserstoff oder Alkyl mit 1 bis 14 C-Atomen, R Wasserstoff und/oder Alkyl mit 1 bis 9 C-Atomen, n eine Zahl von 1 bis 150 und m eine Zahl von 2 bis 12 bedeuten, und worin das Pigment eine durchschnittliche Korngröße von 50 bis 500, vorzugsweise 80 bis 300 nm aufweist. Durch die Verwendung dieser Dispersionen, die die Pigmente in sehr feinteiliger Form enthalten, erreicht man eine gute Durchfärbung des Leders mit verbesserter Lichtechtheit.
