Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH0268148A] PURPOSE: To enable the production of a pipette tip without the hindrance of taking the tip out of a mold on account of a detrimental undercut by subjecting the outer side and inner side of the pipette tip wall to thickness reduction working in the form of grooves in a sealing area. CONSTITUTION: The pipette tip 1 has a fitting port 2 in the upper part and a liquid collection/release port 8 in the lower part and has the sealing area 10 where the pipette tip couples to a fitting head in a position apart a distance from the top end of the pipette tip. A smooth fitting surface is formed on the inside wall of the pipette tip. Further, the wall of the sealing area 10 is made thinner than the wall 17 of the pipette tip, by which the sealing area 10 is made flexible. The outer and inner sides of the pipette tip wall in at least the sealing area 10 of the fittable pipette tip 1 which is constituted at least partly to a conical shape in compliance with the shape of the fitting head of a pipette and more particularly the conical shape thereof and of which the entire part exhibits the shape of the conical vessel are subjected to thickness reduction working in the form of the grooves 11 and 15. Consequently, the pipette tip may be produced without the hindrance of taking the tip out of the mold on account of the detrimental undercut.
