[origin: EP0351632A2] Drive system for intermittently working cutting machine, in which a hydraulic cylinder, on which a toothed rack is fixed, is movable to and fro on a firmly anchored piston rod. The toothed rack located on the hydraulic cylinder meshes with the teeth of the driving wheel of a crank gear which moves the cutting machine. The drive system is so designed that the cutter of the cutting machine, in a movement of the hydraulic cylinder executed in one direction as far as the endpoint, executes a complete cutting movement starting from the initial position, via the reversal point, back to the initial position. <IMAGE>
