In an oven with air circulation, a heating element is provided with an associated speed-switchable circulating air blower, the heating element being controlled by a manually adjustable temperature control. Moreover, switching devices are provided for the alternative switching of the type of operation, e.g. by means of speed switching and/or by means of switching on a steam generator. In order, in this connection, to prevent incorrect operations in a simple manner, at least one switching device is controlled independently from the set-point.

Bei einem Umluftofen ist ein Heizelement mit einem zugeordneten drehzahlumschaltbaren Umluftgebläse vorgesehen, wobei das Heizelement von einem manuell einstellbaren Temperatursteller gesteuert ist. Außerdem sind Schalteinrichtungen zur wahlweisen Umschaltung der Betriebsart, z.B. durch eine Drehzahlumschaltung und/oder durch Einschalten eines Dampferzeugers vorgesehen. Um dabei Fehlbedienungen auf einfache Weise zu verhindern, ist wenigstens eine Schaltenrichtung abhängig vom Einstellwert des Temperaturstellers gesteuert.
