[origin: EP0351690A1] A rotary scroll compressor for compressible fluids essentially comprises a housing (1) in which two displacer discs (6, 7) of symmetrical construction are arranged so as to be rotatable by means of driving elements (18-23). On one side in each case, the two displacer discs are provided with ribs (14) extending in a spiral shape. To form a delivery space (15), the ribs interengage and, with their free front ends (24), seal against the opposite displacer disc. Provided in order to maintain the sealing effect is a pressure chamber (26) which communicates with the outlet (16) of the compressor and via which an axially displaceable annular disc (28) can be stressed, said annular disc being in operative connection with a displacer disc (6) designed to be axially displaceable.
