[origin: EP0352496A2] During the method, the article to be cleaned, which can be vertical blinds, curtains or the like, is left hanging in the insulation position on a running rail and, after they have been pushed together to form a block, firstly a washing active medium and then rinsing liquid are each fed from above in a cycle over the article to be cleaned which is then dried after the rinsing operation. A washing apparatus can be suspended in a running rail guiding the article to be cleaned and can be provided with a jacket enclosing the article to be cleaned in the manner of a sleeve during application. Furthermore, the washing apparatus has a tuyère connection situated above the article to be cleaned during proper use and a collection basin arranged below the article to be cleaned, into which collection basin the bottom end of the jacket projects.
