Abstract (en)
A thermal ink ribbon, especially a thermal carbon ribbon, is described which has a conventional support and a layer of a wax-bonded melt-on ink formed on one side of the support. This thermal ink ribbon is distinguished in that the melt-on ink contains at least one paraffin having a solidification temperature from about 50 to 100 DEG C and at least one ethylene/vinyl acetate wax which is capable of forming a eutectic with the paraffin. It leads to particularly intense prints in the thermal printing process.

Beschrieben wird ein Thermofarbband, insbesondere Thermocarbonband, mit einem üblichen Träger und einer auf einer Seite des Trägers ausgebildeten Schicht einer wachsgebundenen Aufschmelzfarbe. Dieses Thermofarbband zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß die Aufschmelzfarbe mindestens ein Paraffin mit einer Erstarrungstemperatur von etwa 50 bis 100 °C und mindestens ein Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Wachs, das mit dem Paraffin zur Bildung eines Eutektikums fähig ist, enthält. Es führt beim Thermodruckvorgang zu besonders intensiven Ausdrucken.
