Abstract (en)
A thermal ink ribbon, especially a thermal carbon ribbon, is described which has a conventional support and a layer of a melt-on ink formed on one side of the support, a separating layer being provided between the surface of the support and the layer of melt-on ink. The special characteristic of this thermal ink ribbon is that the separating layer contains water-releasing agents dispersed in a binder. Such a thermal ink ribbon is distinguished in that the melt-on ink can be readily and completely detached in the area of the embossed thermal symbol during the thermal printing process.

Beschrieben wird ein Thermofarbband, insbesondere Thermocarbonband, mit einem üblichen Träger und einer auf einer Seite des Trägers ausgebildeten Schicht einer Aufschmelzfarbe, wobei zwischen der Oberfläche des Trägers und der Schicht der Aufschmelzfarbe eine Trennschicht angeordnet ist. Das besondere Kennzeichen dieses Thermofarbbandes besteht darin, daß die Trennschicht in einem Bindemittel dispergierte wasserabspaltende Mittel enthält. Ein solches Thermofarbband zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß beim Thermodruckvorgang die Aufschmelzfarbe an der Stelle des aufgeprägten Wärmesymbols leicht und vollständig ablösbar ist.
