[origin: EP0352580A1] Operating system of internal-combustion engine valves under spring pressure. These valves are controlled via cams and have defined opening and closing times, actuating devices for transmitting the cam movements to a valve actuating mechanism being provided between the valves and the cams. Each valve actuating mechanism comprises at least two transmission levers actuable by cams of different configuration. A first transmission lever controls an opening movement and a second transmission lever controls the closing movement of a single valve independently of the first transmission lever. <IMAGE>
