[origin: US4957028A] A rammer for artillery shells with a carriage behind the gun's tube that supports a tray in alignment with the powder chamber, that has a mechanism at the rear to intercept the shell, that travels on slides along a track paralleling the axis R of the tube, that is coupled to a piston-and-cylinder drive mechanism to accelerate toward the tube, and that has a braking mechanism to brake it at a prescribed distance from the rear end of the tube. The braking mechanism has a shock absorber position in the longitudinal midplane of the carriage with a piston that moves against the force of a friction spring inside a cylinder and that has a piston rod projecting forward beyond the front of the carriage with a stop mounted on it, whereby the stop rests directly against the rear end of the tube when the carriage is in the forward and braked position.

Ein Geschoßansetzer für Artillerie mit einem hinter dem Geschütz (1) angeordneten Schlitten (4), der eine fluchtend zum Ladungsraum angeordnete Aufnahmemulde mit einem Angriffselement (4.1) am hinteren Ende für das Geschoß (8) trägt und über eine Gleitführung (5.1) bewegbar auf einer parallel zur Geschützrohrachse (R) verlaufenden Führungsbahn (5) geführt ist. Der Schlitten (4) ist mit einem Kolben-Zylinderantrieb (6) zur Beschleunigung in Richtung auf das Geschützrohr (1) gekoppelt. Zur Abbremsung des Schlittens in einem vorgegebenen Abstand vor dem Geschützrohrende dient ein Stoßdämpfer (7), der an seiner nach vorne über das vordere Ende des Schlittens (4) hinausgeführte Kolbenstange (7.2) einen Anschlag (7.3) aufweist, der in der vorderen Abbremsposition des Schlittens (4) unmittelbar am hinteren Ende des Geschützrohres (1) anliegt.
