Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0352599A2] In known machines, the cylinders bearing exchangeable tubes are mounted with the shafts driving them in special bearings in both side walls. Additionally, during tube exchange, counter-holders can be placed on the shaft ends projecting beyond the second side wall. When spreading apart a multi-part first side wall for tube exchange, the bearings arranged on this side must either be dismantled or fixed in their position. The invention is intended to provide complete accessibility during tube exchange with a simple construction and simultaneously maintaining all register setting possibilities. <??>In the machine according to the invention, all the cylinders (30, 41, 54, 66) are mounted on only slightly rotatable and/or axially displaceable axles (27, 38, 51, 63) and are all devices serving for circumferential, lateral and diagonal register adjustment and for the drive and the starting and stopping of the cylinders (30, 41, 54, 66), arranged near to the second side wall (2), by which means only bore holes (13, 14, 15, 16) to accommodate the axle ends are required in the region of the first side wall (1). <??>Web-fed press for continuously printing without using a tensioning channel. <IMAGE>
