[origin: EP0352807A2] An insert (56) for an athletic shoe is described. The insert (56) is generally used in conjunction with other shoe components to provide additional stability to a shoe sole. The insert member (56) includes a central body (58) and a plurality of insert extensions (60 - 72) which extend outwardly from the central body (58). The extensions (60 - 72) may cooperate with lugs of an outsole.
