[origin: EP0353149A1] The blades 1, made from sheet steel, are submitted individually to successive shaping operations to give them a profile with, in the transverse direction, ends 4, 5 which are substantially disposed in the same plane and separated from each other by a protruding intermediate section which is connected to one of the said ends by an S-shaped portion. In order to form the panel there is applied, over the entire length, an end 5 of a blade 1 against the opposite end 4 of the preceding blade 1 and a spot welding is carried out. <??>The invention is applied to the production of display panels which withstand load and are of excellent appearance while being of reduced weight. <IMAGE>
