[origin: WO8807336A1] Novel thermoplastic sheet materials for permitting positionable and repeated repositionable use of tape fasteners therewith without experiencing substantial loss of tape adhesion therebetween are disclosed. A novel thermoplastic sheet material generally comprises an ethylene polymer and an anti-popoff substance in an effective amount for increasing and substantially maintaining the tape adhesion. The increase in and substantial maintenance of the tape adhesion is accomplished without adversely affecting the properties or cost of the thermoplastic sheet material. A preferred formulation for producing the novel thermoplastic sheet material comprises polyethylene as the ethylene polymer and a polypropylene or alpha-methyl styrene as the anti-popoff substance. The novel thermoplastic sheet materials are especially suitable for use as films which can be used as backsheets in absorbent articles, such as, disposable diapers, bandages, surgical dressings or drapes and catamenial pads.

Les nouveaux matériaux en feuille thermoplastique permettent le positionnement et le repositionnement répétés de bandes d'attache adhésives sans qu'il y ait de perte d'adhésion entre les deux. Un nouveau matériau en feuille thermoplastique comprend d'une manière générale un polymère d'éthylène et une substance antidécollement en une quantité suffisante pour augmenter et maintenir sensiblement la force d'adhésion de la bande. L'augmentation et le maintien sensible de la force d'adhésion de la bande sont obtenus sans affecter les propriétés ou les coûts de la bande en feuille thermoplastique. Une composition préférée permettant de produire de nouveaux matériaux en feuille thermoplastique comprend un polyéthylène en tant que polymère d'éthylène et un polypropylène ou alpha-méthyl styrène en tant que substance antidécollement. Les nouveaux matériaux en feuille thermoplastique sont particulièrement appropriés pour être utilisés comme des pellicules ou feuilles de contrefort dans des articles absorbants tels que des couches jetables, des bandages, des pansements ou draps chirurgicaux et des tampons menstruels.
