Bei einem Rammbohrgerät (1) mit in einem rohrförmigen Gehäuse (2) verschiebbaren Schlagkolben (3), einem verschiebbar gelagerten, durch eine Gehäusespitze (6) hindurchgeführten Meißel (10), der mit einem Bund (14) in einer einen vorderen und einen hinteren, den Hubweg (19) des Meißels (10) begrenzenden Anschlag (20, 15) aufweisenden Gehäusebohrung (13) geführt, und mit einem in den Arbeitsraum (17) des Schlagkolbens (3) hineinragenden Zapfen (16) versehen ist, werden Prellschläge vermieden, wenn die Vorkraglänge (18) des Zapfens (16) kleiner als der maximale Hubweg (19) des Bundes (14) zwischen den Anschlägen (15, 20) ist.
