[origin: EP0353457A2] A device for recognising and separating lump-shaped impurities from a stream of synthetic or material which is fed via a feed device and a slide is proposed. A multiplicity of sensors are arranged transversely to the material stream and can be constructed, for example, as metal detectors or opto-electronic sensors. Blast nozzles controlled in each case by valves are assigned to the sensors, said blast nozzles being selectively drivable when impurities are detected by the sensors to blow the impurity out of the falling stream of material. <IMAGE>
