A piston, especially a plunger piston for compressors, comprises a cylindrical piston barrel (1), a sealing ring (3) arranged on the outer circumference of the piston barrel (1) and a guiding layer (4) likewise applied to the outer circumference of the piston barrel. The piston barrel (1) consists of thermosetting plastic and the guiding layer (4) is firmly joined to the plastic of the piston as a self- contained, seamless guiding ring (4), it being possible for the guiding ring (4) to extend essentially over the entire length of the piston barrel (1) and have a wall thickness of between 0.2 and 1 mm. <IMAGE>

Ein Kolben, insbesondere Tauchkolben für Kompressoren umfaßt einen zylindrischen Kolbenkörper (1), einen am Außenumfang des Kolbenkörpers (1) angeordneten Dichtring (3) sowie eine ebenfalls auf dem Außenumfang des Kolbenkörpers aufgebrachte Führungsauflage (4). Der Kolbenkörper (1) besteht aus duroplastischem Kunststoff, und die Führuhgsauflage (4) ist als in sich geschlossener, fugenloser Führungsring (4) fest mit dem Kunststoff des Kolbens verbunden, wobei sich der Führungsring (4) im wesentlichen über die gesamte Länge des Kolbenkörpers (1) erstrecken und eine Wandstärke zwischen 0,2 und 1 mm haben kann.
