[origin: EP0353547A1] A suction waggon for disposal of sludges and liquids comprises a receptacle (1) which can be filled and emptied by selective application of under- or overpressure by means of an attached vacuum pump (7, 26). For ease of switching between the filling and the emptying mode, in one embodiment of the invention the receptacle (1) is divided into a suction and a delivery chamber (3, 4) and the vacuum pump (7) communicates directly with the delivery chamber (4) via a pipeline (15, 17), and a non return valve (22) which closes on application of pressure is arranged in the pipeline (3) leading to the suction chamber (3). In another embodiment, switching between the two operating modes is facilitated by a vacuum pump (26) which can operate in both directions of rotation, the direction of rotation being switched for filling and emptying the receptacle (1).
