Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0353563A1] A merchandise display shelf has a peripheral frame (1) and a grid (12) in the frame (1) integral with the latter and it can be assembled by means of supports to be attached to the frame (1) with a further identical shelf in the same position as well as offset by 180 DEG , etc. The grid (12) is formed by parallel ribs (12), extending between a front and a rear frame leg (3; 4), with a rounded top side, which ribs are inclined in relation to the horizontal. The merchandise on a grid of this type always slips towards the lower end. This simplifies the operation of the display shelf: If the lower end is placed towards the front, this has the advantage that, when merchandise is removed from the front, the same merchandise slips down again from the rear and, until the shelf has been completely emptied, the merchandise is always readily visible and can easily be picked up without it having to be fetched from the rear to the front. If slipping to the front is not desired for reasons of sales psychology or other reasons, the shelf is arranged offset by 180 DEG . It then has the advantage that it can be filled more easily because the merchandise always only needs to be placed on at the front and it then slips to the rear by itself. <IMAGE>
