Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0353586A2] The present invention relates to an actuator for a quick stop valve (1) in a steam line (3a, 3b, 3c), preferably in a steam turbine. Arranged on the torque shaft (11) of the quick stop valve (1) is a pinion (12) with which two pairs of racks (13, 14) engage. One pair of racks (13) serves in conjunction with hydraulic means (6, 8) to open the quick stop valve (1), the other pair (14) serves in conjunction with closing springs (7) for the purpose of rapid closure. By virtue of complete freedom from play, the two independent systems for opening or closing reduce the wear of the mechanism, and via an appropriate hydraulic connection enable damping of the valve disc of the quick stop valve (1) upon entry into the final closing position. In order to keep this damping independent of different operating states, use is made of manometric balances (26a, 26b) in conjunction with an interceptor throttle (27), which can also be adjustable depending on the angle of rotation. A bypass line (4) which for its part can be blocked by a quick stop shut-off valve (5a, 5b), serves the purpose of relieving the pressure of the quick stop valve (1) during opening. <IMAGE>
